Sustainable Travel - Tourism's Future

Our Spanish language school in Granada, Andalusia: a space of solidarity

At our Spanish language school in Granada, sustainability and responsibility have always been part of our vocabulary.

Today, more than ever, we believe in the incredible importance of travelling. It's only by travelling and meeting new people that we begin to understand that we all share the same world. So how do we make that ride not just a quick fairground twirl, but something that we can enjoy for our travelling lives and pass on to future generations? By changing our travel habits and thinking differently about how, where and why we travel. Responsible travel means assessing our effect on the environment, local cultures and economies, and acting in a way that makes our impact as positive as possible.

Intercultural exchange

Escuela Montalbán - TANDEM Granada is a member of TANDEM® International language schools. TANDEM language schools place a special emphasis on the cultural integration of their students, by facilitating language exchanges with native speakers.

Sustainable Travel

Escuela Montalbán - TANDEM Granada is a member of Responsible Travel (Responsible Travel Policy as a PDF) in England and supports campaigns such as Verträglich Reisen, Sanftes Reisen and atmosfair.

What is atmosfair?

Not everyone is willing, or in the position, to give up air travel, despite the general awareness that this form of travel significantly contributes to the greenhouse effect. Hence, for people who are concerned with the environmental consequences of air travel, a service has now been created: atmosfair.

Air-passengers can donate an amount which is equivalent to the gases emitted by their flight. The funds collected are invested in solar, hydropower, biomass, or energy-efficiency projects and thereby contribute to neutralizing greenhouse gases by an amount comparable with the aircraft's emissions. Your donation therefore helps to achieve these projects!

Escuela Montalbán - TANDEM Granada also supports Amnesty International, WWF and Solidaridad Internacional.
